Idema 1974 Grad Poughkeepsie High

Idema was raised in Poughkeepsie, New York, graduating from high school there in 1974. In February 1975 he enlisted in the U.S. Army. His father H. John Idema, a former Marine and World War II veteran, believed that was a "dedicated American".[6][10] John Idema died in November 2008.[11]
